Matti Fromson is Of Counsel at Conrad|Metlitzky|Kane where she specializes in white collar criminal defense.

Matti has more than two decades of criminal law experience and has represented individuals and entities in pre-indictment investigations, grand jury proceedings, plea negotiations, jury trials, and sentencing proceedings. 

She has represented individuals charged or under federal investigation for securities, tax, and Medicare fraud; political corruption; money laundering; antitrust violations; trade secret theft; criminal violations of the Arms Export Control Act, Food, Drug and Cosmetics Act, and various environmental laws.  She also has extensive post-conviction habeas experience, challenging the constitutionality of state and federal convictions.  Her state court practice has included white collar defense as well assault, burglary, and homicide cases. 

Prior to her work with CMK, Matti was a staff attorney in the Criminal and Habeas Unit for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.  She also practiced at Arguedas, Cassman & Headley. After graduating from law school, Matti served as a law clerk for the Honorable William A. Fletcher, of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.   

Matti earned a bachelor of arts in political science from the University of California at Santa Barbara where she graduated with High Honors and Distinction in the Major.  She earned her master’s degree in political science from U.C. Berkeley and her J.D. from University of California, Berkeley School of Law, where she was Order of the Coif and received a Moot Court Commendation.

Matti lives in Berkeley with her husband and daughter.
