Mark Conrad was honored earlier this month with the prestigious "Director's Award" from the U.S. Department of Justice. The award is given each year by the Executive Office of the United States Attorney's for Superior Performance by a Litigating Team. Mark received this award for his work investigating the activities of Morgan Stanley prior to the 2008 financial crisis. The investigation resulted in a $2.6 billion settlement — the largest sum ever recovered in a civil case investigated by the United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of California.

The settlement of the Morgan Stanley case included both a formal settlement agreement and a statement of facts provided by the investment bank regarding its activities, which are publicly available and can be downloaded here.

Read more about Mark's work in the press release issued by the United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of California here . Read Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein's remarks at the 32nd annual awards ceremony here.
